Project name:Human rights respect in our community
Students' level":12th Form
Project Idea:The project has the aim to inform students about how are human rights respected in our community
Driving question:How are human rights respected in our community ? Is every voice heard ?
EFL Content Skills and Standards: – investigate local public authorities and local ONG and produce a well-developed and structured communication about respect of human rigths ;
- use at least 3 exemples in order to sustain your oppinion;
- build an analytical attitude towards the community you live in;
-use proper vocabulary and constructions for describing the situation and the needs.
Collaborative Final Products-- Animoto movie or
- Voicethread movie to present your work;
Local & Global Audience-
- classmates, schoolmates, parents, people in the community, teachers.
Project Steps and schedule:
- make up 5 groups-
- select the aspects you will analize(for exemple -economical ,social ,people with disabilities and places for them etc;
- decide on the way you want to present the final result: ex: Animoto/Voicethread movie;
- decide on the responsibilities of the team members-what is everyone going to do: ex; - take pictures, -find out the exemples ,facts, -interview someone to find out more information, consult local authorities and ONG- put together all the materials,- write/do the draft of the presentation and discuss it in group, -make the necessary changes, -add your own opinions about this activity in the presentation, and -publish the product on the blog as a comment
Students’ outcomes for each stage:
- 5 teams;
- find the aspects to analyze;
- the final result to be presented as an Animoto or Voice thread movie;
- responsibilities of every member of the team;
- pictures with interview ,videos, photos that explain the situations;
- your opinions about the work done in group;
- the final result.
